The concept of the MobileEye in-car digital recorder started over four years ago with two police officers who saw firsthand the frustrations of VCR based in-car recording systems, from frequent maintenance and poor quality video to time consuming and cumbersome tape management. They investigated the digital technology that had started to show up in the security industry and concluded with specialized equipment and the right design this same technology could be implemented in the in-car market.

Based on that idea Northland Security Products was established by those same officers. Holding firm in there goals, extensive product research and development was conducted over the most challenging, exciting and rewarding years the company could have hoped for.
